what does this mean??
Hate to be ignorant but I just want to clarify some of the terms I see in the notes for alot of downloads.

Any other explenations on what I might see would be greatly appreciated.

A splice is typically when you use a portion of one recording to fill in a gap or repair a problem (like diginoise, or dropouts, or tape flips) in another recording. So this likely means that the person who circulated recording X, downloaded recording Y and used it to patch up recording X. Usually (but not always), the recording is from another source of the same performance, but it may occasionally come from a different date.

I don't have the link off hand, but there is a webpage put together by MOE tapers that explains a lot of what the weird letter combinations and accronyms used in taping 'source info' mean ... there is also this for info:
